**Description**

**Position Summary:**

Drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.

Drives truck to destination providing accurate, timely and courteous service

Collects signature for goods delivered

Collects payment for goods delivered

Maintains truck log, trip reports, fuel tickets, toll tickets, vehicle condition reports to comply with state and federal regulations

Maintains safe driving record and notifies supervisor of any violations

Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water

Conducts pre-trip inspections per regulations/policy

Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit

Ensures proper load stability and balance

Handles properly all monies concerning COD/cash deliveries

Assists in loading of truck and recommendation of delivery schedule as requested

Observes all company safety practices and procedure

Presents professional images in appearance and behavior with customers, vendors, and co-workers

Reports and documents all delivery variances

Assist with warehouse duties as needed which includes:

o Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials, move containers or open containers

o Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand

o Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit

o Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area

o Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet

o Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers

o Observes all company safety practices and procedures

o Loads truck for driver

o Stacks of assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together

o Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, cleans work area, machines, and equipment

o Operates forklift or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products; moves levers and presses peals to drive lift and control movement of lifting apparatus

o Ensures products are handled in accordance to established standards

o Loads, unloads, straightens, and organizes product and warehouse

o Controls and accounts for materials in order to minimize loss and damage

o Responsible for staging, transporting, shipping, or returning products into and out of the warehouse

o Completes cycle counts and some data entry

o Utilizes state of the art radio frequency bar code scanning technology software and hardware
