Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) where you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive nursing care to our patients. Duties

  • Provides direct patient care to individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction.
  • Conducts mental health screenings and provide emotional support for patients and their families during treatment.
  • Recognizes symptoms and identifies the type of substance abuse
  • Utilizes standards for assessing withdrawal symptoms, such as the CIWA protocol
  • Adheres to current company policies on best treatment modalities and maintains up to-date knowledge of progressive pharmacological and non-pharmacological drug and alcohol recovery interventions.
  • Delivers and appropriately documents the administration of medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular and/or intravenous) according to established policies/procedures.
  • Monitor, document, and report responses to medications, treatments, and procedures and communicate the same to the nurse and/or physician clearly and accurately.
  • Demonstrates proper process of safely disposing medications and hazardous substances.
  • Provides supportive care to the patients under the direction of the registered nurse in charge, APRN, and/or physician.
  • Performs patient skill sets such as taking vital signs, wound dressings, removing stitches and staples, IV insertions, blood draws, and documenting as needed to assist the nurse and physician with patient care once they have completed a competency checklist.
  • Performs Electrocardiograms as ordered and reports finding immediately to Attending Physician.
  • Applies proper techniques and practices while performing diagnostic testing using lab procedures as demonstrated during lab training.
  • Runs labs and reports results immediately to Registered Nurse and/or Attending Physician.
  • Assist in completing daily lab equipment QCs and other duties as assigned by lab manager (ED setting)
  • Assists Registered Nurse to complete focused assessments, evaluation, and interventions for patients with predictable health care needs. Reports assessment findings verbally or in written format, to the RN on shift.
  • May complete daily inpatient reassessments and report abnormal findings to the RN, APRN, or physician.
  • Educates patients on home discharge instructions and about their prescription medications. .
  • Participates in daily facility responsibilities as outlined by the nursing supervisor

Licenses/Certifications

Licensed Vocational Nurse in the State with a current License.

BLS Certification

IV Therapy Certification Course

Education

Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program. Additional state requirements as applicable.

Experience

2 years of experience in an acute patient care setting

Preferred: 2 years of experience working with recovery/detox patients
