Job Summary and Qualifications

The Laboratory Charge Compliance Manager will build and maintain a group of productive consultants in a “work from home” model to support Laboratory Chargemaster compliance across the enterprise. The team is responsible for developing, implementing Chargemaster standardization and maintaining laboratory charging practices, charge linkage, revenue recognition.

The successful Manager will be an effective communicator with excellent customer service skills in order to sustain strong working relationships with the teams we work with and support. Tasked with resourcing, developing and growing the teams under his or her oversight to optimize their ability to effectively and proactively meet the needs of stakeholders.

In this role, you will:

  • Accountable for monitoring regulations and reimbursement changes and identifies pertinent issues requiring operational and laboratory billing practice changes.
  • Develop and implement a plan to standardize enterprise laboratory charge mapping, linkage and instancing to Enterprise standards. Leads standardization initiatives.
  • Develop and implement policies, educational tools, and resources related to laboratory charge and revenue recognition practices (e.g., presentations, conference calls, webcasts, web-based training, and instructional manuals).
  • Accountable for partnering with REGS and the Parallon ESC CDM team in implementing the Enterprise Standard Laboratory Chargemaster including maintenance, monitoring as well as the review and implementation of new charge code requests.
  • Responsible for identifying the correct laboratory chargemaster codes for testing performed at each facility to ensure accurate charge linkage. Provides direction to the clinical build and maintenance teams regarding charge linkage.
  • Hire, train, develop, and oversee staff to execute implementing and maintaining laboratory standards for charge linkage and the Enterprise Standard Chargemaster.
  • Accountable for partnering with Parallon to reconcile volume and charge variances associated with laboratory changes in preparation for Expanse go-live and subsequent maintenance of Expanse
  • Serves as a Laboratory subject matter expert to assist REGs in responding to and investigating laboratory billing related issues

You Should Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Medical Technologist certification is required
  • 7+ years management experience in a hospital based clinical laboratory setting is required
  • Experience in clinical laboratory system maintenance/implementation preferred
  • Billing/coding, revenue cycle, or healthcare experience related to Laboratory Chargemaster, clinical billing, or other related healthcare experience preferred
