PRIME AE Group (), a multi-discipline architecture and engineering firm with 17 office locations and over 430 employees within the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Southeast Regions, is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern for our Lexington office to join the existing Water Group Team.
Position Overview:
The Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern will learn the responsibilities of an engineer by taking part in creating and evolving system designs from concept to final construction document phase.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design various types of electrical systems utilized within the respective markets listed below.
- Perform analyses and apply problem solving techniques to develop creative, innovative solutions.
- Perform a variety of complicated tasks and critical thinking.
- Take part in reviewing, understanding, and applying local, state and federal codes and standards related to the design and construction of project facilities.
- Learn and apply market specific guidelines, the practices and policies of the associated local discipline, divisions, and firm.
- Assist field staff, General Contractors, Architects, and Engineers to ensure compliance with specifications and design during construction.

Minimum Requirements:
- Students pursuing a BS degree from an ABET accredited engineering program.
- Willingness to learn about water infrastructure type projects as mentioned above for local, state and federal clients involving municipal and industrial markets.
- Exposure to systems and software to include AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, KyPIPE, SWMM, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, EPANET, WaterCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
