Carpenter - Lead

Job Description:

As the Lead Carpenter at Blake Miller Lawn & Landscape, you will oversee the construction of various outdoor structures and interior renovations, leading a team of skilled craftsmen to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. From initial planning to final execution, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional results that exceed our clients' expectations.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and supervise a team of craftsmen and laborers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
2. Collaborate with the project manager and design team to interpret blueprints, sketches, and construction plans, ensuring accurate implementation of design specifications.
3. Oversee project logistics, including material procurement, scheduling, and subcontractor management, to optimize workflow and resource utilization.
4. Perform hands-on carpentry work, including framing, decking, roofing, siding, trim work, and finishing, to meet project requirements and maintain quality standards.
5. Oversee the installation of outdoor structures such as decks, 3-season rooms, pool houses, pergolas, fences, and interior renovations.
6. Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
7. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to keep projects on track.
8. Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to address project updates, concerns, and modifications promptly.
9. Maintain accurate records of project expenses, labor hours, and materials usage to facilitate project accounting and billing processes.
10. Uphold the company's reputation for excellence by delivering superior craftsmanship, exceptional customer service, and attention to detail in every project.

Requirements:

1. 3 years experience as a carpenter with a strong background in both outdoor and interior construction projects.
2. Extensive knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials used in building decks, 3-season rooms, pool houses, pergolas, fences, and interior renovations.
3. Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and mentor a team to achieve project objectives and exceed client expectations.
4. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines and budgets.
5. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors.
7. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, construction plans, and building codes.
8. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
9. Commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
10. Ability to work full time (40 hours).
