Job Title: Trim or Rollformer Operator
Reports to: General Manager
Location: Florence, SC
FLSA Status: Full-time, hourly, Monday-Friday - 7AM-5PM, Saturday as-needed
Compensation: Base pay $14.64/hour, up to $20.13/hour including overtime and incentives
Summary/Objective:
Our operators are the core of our business. They're responsible for providing our customers with the absolute best metal roofing, siding, & trim components, while always ensuring the customers' complete satisfaction and positioning Live Oak Metal Works & Supply as their preferred supplier for metal roofing, siding, and accessories.
Responsibilities:
Recognizing that nothing is more important than the safety of our employees and promptly reporting any safety concerns
Always maintaining a great attitude, with an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction
Safely operating all material handling and metal fabricating equipment and tools as required - equipment may include, but is not limited to, forklifts, rollformers, shears, and folders
Meeting or exceeding goals and objectives for safety, productivity, efficiency, yield loss (scrap), on-time delivery, and quality
Performing necessary equipment and tool inspections and preventative maintenance, promptly reporting any issues to General Manager
Safely following all set-up and operating procedures and work instructions. Completing all required quality checks, making the necessary adjustments, to ensure our products are always provided to our customers safely, efficiently, as-ordered, defect-free, and damage free
Utilizing business systems or paper forms (as required) to promptly and accurately report production and track inventory
Constantly seeking opportunities to improve safety, to improve efficiency, and to better serve our customers
Cleaning and resetting work area at the end of each shift, including but not limited to, sweeping the floor, properly disposing of any trash, placing all items in the designated storage location, and restocking any supplies
Cross-training as directed, working at any required position as required
Safely completing all other tasks as required or assigned by the General Manager
Qualifications:

Ability to understand and carefully follow both written procedures and verbal instructions
Ability to read a tape measure, do basic mathematical calculations, and use a calculator
Ability to manage time efficiently to complete all necessary tasks in a timely manner
Comfortable using personal computer and business software applications
High school degree or GED
Prior experience with sheet metal fabrication equipment is strongly preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to routinely lift as much as 75 pounds, to stand for long periods of time, and to bend, climb, reach, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel as necessary in order to perform job duties
Must have hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate heavy machinery, equipment, and tools
Although the work environment is primarily in a warehouse, employees must also have the ability to work while being exposed to outside weather conditions
Able to safely ascend different structures (stairs or step ladder, as examples)
