Job Description
Furnace Machine Loaders Day & Night Shift - Entry-Level
The Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment as well as determining to load sizes, directing loading preparations, preparing loads, setting temperatures and time cycles, the setup up equipment, posting production records, and maintaining normal production yields and anything else the Shift Supervisor may request.
MINIMUM POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience: 1 year of experience in heat treating preferred but not required. We are willing to train!!
- Language Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- May be required to work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends.
- Preferred working knowledge of heat treating, testing, and commercial materials.
- Preferred basic knowledge of metallurgy, temperatures, etc.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods, bend, and stoop and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work Environment: May be exposed to heat, noise, humidity, fumes.
- Must be able to work overtime, any shift and any day of the week.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain status of certified forklift operator.
- Possess the ability to perform under the procedures set out for the position under the QS-9000 manuals of the Company.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates controls, and monitors multiple pieces of heat treating equipment.
- Follows written procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.
- Prepares work for processing.
- Loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
- Brings any irregularity to the shift supervisor or management.
- Promotes safety and good housekeeping practices.
- Responsible for following production schedules.
- Responsible for the quality of his/her production.
- Responsible for the conveyance of pertinent information to relieving operator.
- Must be a close liaison with any applicable service department.
- Performs all other assigned duties.
