Intern - Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Biology

WACKER internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in key functional areas. As an intern you will gain first-hand exposure to the chemical industry, learn new business skills and deepen your knowledge of your field of interest. WACKER North America is looking for several highly motivated college students for our 12-week summer internship program at our new Innovation Center and Regional Headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI. We have several internships available in our business teams working on value added chemical related projects.

Silicone projects could include one of the following focus areas:
* Hybrids & Sealants (NSF Registerable Acetoxy & Hybrid Silanes Filler Study)
* Textiles & UV Cure
* Construction (Concrete & Paints)
* Pulp defoamer compound
* Rubber (E-Mobility Applications)
The internship will include responsibilities such as project innovation, routine lab work, product sampling, production testing, product & data analysis of Silicone products to better understand the chemical behavior and market applicability.

Qualifications

* Currently a rising sophomore or higher and attending school to obtain a college degree in the field of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology or a related field.
* Available full-time in person commitment (Monday through Friday) from May 20th through August 9th
* Ability to follow safety procedures
* Basic laboratory skills
* Ability to maintain confidentiality
* Excellent communication and analytical skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
* Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
* Effective time-management abilities
* Ability to positively present our company
