Job Title: Director Distribution

Reports to (Title): VP or Sr. Director, Distribution Centers

Essential Function
Responsible for all Operational and Financial aspects of the distribution center including budgeting and budget performance, work schedule planning, directing and coordinating the receipt, storage, sortation and distribution of beauty products, supplies, returns, transfers, special orders, show orders, deal breaks, and store fixtures. Ensures the accuracy, timeliness, cost effectiveness and DOT/FAA compliance of product movement for all customer and/or store orders.

Primary Duties

  • 20%: Directs and manages teams to have an accurate, efficient and current shipping and receiving status.
  • 15%: Ensures the operations adheres to a commitment for a safe, healthy and secure work environment by continually addressing all associate and building concerns.
  • 15%: Manages budget and maintains efficient cost control by operating within the operational budget set for the distribution center. Ensures the accuracy, timeliness, cost effectiveness and DOT/FAA compliance of product movement for all customer and/or store orders.
  • 10%: Maintains accurate inventories. Performs cycle counts and/or conduct an annual physical inventory, control and minimize inventory shrink. Ensures the integrity of all warehouse inventories with compliance to all ICC rules and policies.
  • 10%: Develops and supports training; educational programs and career advancement opportunities for associates. Accountable for associate relation concerns including payroll, recruiting, performance reviews, policy communication and enforcement, and conflict resolution in partnership with HR Business Partner.
  • 10%: Provides and supports a positive associate environment aligned with our purpose and values.
  • 5% : Demonstrates highly effective communications with internal field and corporate support center associates and and external vendors .
  • 5% : Partners with Merchandising on vendor Purchase Order discrepancies.
  • 5% : Assists in Warehouse Management System development/upgrades with an eye on continual process improvement.
  • 5% : Assists Transportation team to achieve lowest possible freight cost for a specified service level.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High school diploma, Bachelors Degree in a Business-Related Field preferred
  • 5 years of direct management experience in a high volume distribution center
  • Experience performing in a goal setting environment

Competencies / Attributes

  • Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint programs
  • Practical experience with a Warehouse Management System including inquiry and report writing.
  • Excellent oral skills including oral presentations in front of large warehouse groups
  • Written communication skills including financial and operational reports
