Job Description
Sterling Security is looking to fill our Flex Officer / Floater position:
As a "Flex Officer / Floater " you are assigned to different locations, departments, or duties as needed. This type of position often requires flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks. You will be on call and called upon to fill call-offs and part-time openings. Here are some of the duties and responsibilities that are required for this position:
Responsibilities:
1. Flexibility: Employees in floater positions should be adaptable and open to working in various locations and shifts within Sterling Security.
2. Diverse Skill Set: You are expected to have a broad skill set that allows you to perform different job functions as needed. This may involve training in multiple areas or a generalist approach for each site.
3. Team Player: Floaters must be team players who can seamlessly integrate into different teams and shifts. You should be able to build a rapport quickly and work effectively with diverse groups of colleagues.
5. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills are essential as a flex officer/floater, as you will need to be able to quickly understand new roles and responsibilities and communicate effectively with different teams.
6. AS A FLEX OFFICER / FLOATER YOU WILL BE ON CALL FOR THE FOLLOWING SHIFTS:
a. Days and Afternoons
b. Afternoons and Nights
7. We ask that you maintain the required shift you select and when called you go in with no excuses.
You will do the following tasks depending on the locations:
8. Patrolling and monitoring premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
9. Responding to alarms and emergency situations.
10. Controlling access to the premises and ensuring only authorized individuals enter the property.
11. Writing reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
12. Monitoring and authorizing entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous experience in security-related work is often preferred, but not always required, as some employers may provide on-the-job training.
3. Strong observation and communication skills.
4. Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
5. Depending on the employer, a valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required for security guards who need to patrol in a vehicle.
