What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a solutions architect to join our highly productive team and develop creative solutions to improve technological capabilities! Our team is responsible for developing and maintaining hardware systems that host databases, file servers, system software, web workflow applications, and other small applications used by organizations across the satellite enterprise. The successful candidate will be intimately familiar with the software development life cycle, strong Linux administration, and scripting.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Support an Oracle System with a Linux Backend.

  • Own the oracle database to include scripting for maintenance.

  • Collaborate with and serve as a back up to the NetApp Engineer

  • Build Linux Systems from the ground up.

    This is an opportunity to become involved in a high visibility program area that manages the full range of remote sensing space system payloads. Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, cyber security or other relevant field plus four years relevant experience or equivalent (Masters or PhD)

  • Two (2) years of experience with Linux system administration, such as:

  • + System Administration skills for Linux Server and Desktop Systems

  • End-User Application Support

  • System Setup

  • Account Management

  • File services

  • Network Configuration

  • Application Hosting

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Ability to work independently but also possess strong commitment to team environment dynamics.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with a keen focus on customer service.

  • Experience in VMWare/VXRail.

  • Familiarity with firewall technology & management of private LANs/networks.

  • Developing scripts for automating services tasks.

  • Windows system administration experience (2 years or more is preferable).

  • Experience with quality assurance testing.

  • Knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and processes, including software development methodology frameworks; source code control; application development tools.

  • Experience in NetApp.

  • Oracle administration experience.

  • Server room management (e.g., power, cooling, cabling, racking)

About Our Team:

We are responsible for developing software and hardware solutions to complex engineering and science problems throughout the Satellite enterprise using industry standard practices and methodologies. The team hosts a variety of hardware systems that run on Linux and Windows in addition to enterprise level storage servers like NetApp. Many of the applications developed within the department are hosted on these severs and are developed in Java, C#, C++, PHP, JQuery, Go, PL/SQL and Python. We develop, host and administer our own databases which include Oracle, MySQL, Mongo and SQLServer.

Posting Duration:
