DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will function as a working supervisor, directing and participating in the overall preparation and service of food to residents in a Department of Military and Veterans Affairs long-term care facility. In doing so, you will have the ability to improve our resident's quality of life by providing the best care possible.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (40-hours per week)
  • Work hours are 2nd shift (11:30 AM to 8:00 PM), rotating days and weekends, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Three years of paid experience in food production and/or service and successful completion of a Certified Dietary Manager course; or
  • Two years as a Food Service Worker and/or production experience, and an Associate degree with major course work in food production and food service; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which consists of experience in an institutional setting preparing specialized therapeutic diets, or course work in food production, food service or a related field.

Additional Requirement:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Willingness to work in Spring City, Pennsylvania, Chester County.
  • Willingness to work a permanent, full-time position.
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift (11:30 AM to 8:00 PM) with rotating days and weekends.
  • Food Service Worker or production experience in an institutional setting preparing specialized therapeutic diets.
  • Education in food service or production

Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and drug screen.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
