GENERAL FUNCTION:

The SEO & Digital Content Manager is responsible for leading the development and optimization of content and SEO across Fifth Third Bank's digital presence in support of specific marketing objectives, as well as the bank's objectives as a whole. They are the expert internal resource the bank can rely on for collaboration and consultation when it comes to content development, SEO best practices, strategic marketing, process and implementation, and more.

They must be well versed in SEO best practices, as well as content strategy and development. They are expected to strategically use SEO and content marketing to increase bank authority, drive organic traffic, publish and promote thought leadership, and improve overall engagement with current and potential customers across all bank disciplines and lines of business. They must continually evolve the depth, breadth and overall quality of the bank's online presence as part of an ongoing effort to position Fifth Third as the industry leader for relevant financial sectors.

As part of the Digital Marketing team, the SEO & Digital Content Manager will report to the Digital Marketing Director lead strategic SEO implementation across Fifth Third properties, as well as content development for long- and short-term initiatives, campaigns and programs. They will be responsible for the budgets associated with those efforts, manage the day-to-day operations of relevant agencies, coordinate with internal teams on individual projects, and lead the decision-making process for SEO and content efforts. They will be a principal internal resource - for marketing and for the bank as a whole - for both consultation and hands-on work as it relates to shaping a robust and effective digital ecosystem for the bank.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and manage an industry-leading SEO and content strategy that leverages industry trends, established best practices and best-in-class content.
  • Develop, oversee and implement standards, systems and processes for content creation, maintenance, and optimization that align with marketing and overarching Bancorp standards, and SEO best practices.
  • Develop editorial calendars, SEO initiatives, content strategies, conversion rate optimization plans, and other documentation in support of content, digital and SEO initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to define content workflows and approval processes.
  • Manage relevant agency relationships and associated budgets to ensure work and costs are being used efficiently and effectively.
  • Act as internal authority and resource for initiatives across the bank in order to provide strategic SEO and content recommendations based on proven data and expertise.
  • Analyze, review and report on effectiveness of SEO and content tactics and campaigns, overall engagement and bank authority in an effort to maximize results across channels.
  • Monitor and evaluate industry activity and trending topics to inform ongoing SEO and content optimizations, and inform internal stakeholders and other decision makers accordingly.
  • Lead SEO and content efforts within complex projects, facilitating strategy, process and implementation.
  • Consult on other digital projects and initiatives as needed.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing or other related field and/or equivalent work-related experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years in SEO strategy and implementation marketing, as well as direct experience with content marketing
  • Established knowledge base in planning, managing, and executing content marketing and SEO initiatives, including experience as a content creator/publisher.
  • Expertise in the online space (web, email, search, podcasting, blogging, etc.) and demonstrated knowledge of fundamental digital marketing distribution.
  • Clear understanding of the digital ecosystem and how to integrate SEO and content, as well as achieve and articulate success.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities within specified timeframes.
