Purpose:

Responsible for selling, receiving, and delivery of parts, attachments and accessories. Assist the Aftermarket Manager in maintain accurate, timely reports, work orders and records relative to the parts and service department’s daily operation. In addition, performs in-store customer service, overall organizational promotion, and stocking duties.

 

Responsibilities:

o Look up and ordering of Parts for John Deere equipment using JDPOINT ordering system & PMPRO catalog system

o Look up and ordering of Parts for Other Vendors using their website catalogs

o Sells & orders parts required to fill customer needs using PFW business system

o Promotes and sells products and/or services to meet customer needs

o Supplies Service Technicians with parts as required

o Assists with preparing and maintaining merchandise displays

o Assists in keeping parts department clean and orderly

o Follows up on shortages and expedites issues by reporting to the manager

o Fields internal and external customer inquiries to the Service Department

o Opens work orders as directed by the Aftermarket Manager/Lead or Shop Foreman and maintains control until they are closed and invoiced

o Maintains the service library with current information (for example, files bulletins, manuals, multi-media, etc.) under the direct supervision of the Aftermarket Manager

o Maintains Service Department and Parts Department filing and records

o Updates customer profiles using equipment, hours, or other information from the customer work orders

o Assist in answering service phone calls

o Maintains accessories and supplies and prepares replacement orders

o May prepare Service Technician efficiency reports and other reports as needed

o May process warranty and/or product improvement claims including the computation of charges, submission and follow-up

o Assists in maintaining all departmental tools, equipment, and vehicles are in good working order

o Perform other related duties assigned by Managers.

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

o Basic data entry/keyboarding skills

o Basic machinery knowledge

o Parts Educate - Required to have 20 credits per year of John Deere training as well as training requested by their Parts Manager

o Ability to use the JD Pathways /John Deere Parts Catalog computer application and Vendor Websites for parts look up and ordering.

o Ability to learn PFW business system for invoicing, receipting and ordering parts for customers

o Ability to work in a team environment

o Ability to lift items weighing up to 75 lbs.

o High School diploma or equivalent experience

o Forklift license
