Job Description

Job Description

We are hiring Technicians to support ongoing build outs of data center installations.

This contract will begin April 1, 2024.

  • Wanting to begin on site training March 25th.
  • This should be around a month contract depending on the size of team.

Projects range from the installation of 200 to 1200 devices at a time, with between 4 and 10 copper and fiber cable connections. Structured Cabling and rack buildouts are sometimes included in each project, but mostly in-rack jumper connections within existing facilities is all that’s required. Projects are located across the US, but we are hiring local technicians to support local projects with a primary technician to oversee the installation. Opportunities for moving up to primary technician and traveling to other locations are possible. Hardware is located in traditional data-centers, offices, conference rooms, communication rooms, temporary trailers or any various combinations of odd locations in between.

Techs are paid hourly for travel and installation time. Travel expenses are covered.

Technicians will be hired as Contractor employees.

Required Skills:

  1. Ability to read communication wiring diagrams, rack elevation drawings and construction packages.
  2. Experience wiring fiber-optic and copper network infrastructure.
  3. Ability to do basic construction (Example: Drill and mount a switch under a conference room desk)
  4. Attention to Detail: Understand and adhere to labeling standards, leave a site cleaner than you found it, clean/proper cable securing practices, etc.

NOTES:

  1. These sites will be manned and operating during all hours. Two-12 hour shifts, one day and one night shift. We usually arrive an hour early to survey the site, prepare/label the cables before initiating clearance for work.
  2. Many sites are managed under Federal regulations. As such a background check and drug test are required to be submitted and approved by regulators prior to on-boarding.
  3. We are hiring based on our current workload, and on a project by project basis. However, we are learning that our workload is likely to increase dramatically over the next several months. We may have several open positions over the next few months to scale with demand if we don't select you this go around.
