About the role

Reporting to the U.S. Manager of Execution, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to logistics officers who are handling US Sea execution day-to-day activities. Specific responsibilities include:
- Lead a team in delivering day-to-day operational sea movement of products from Rio Tinto's US assets to customers and warehouses and be the first point of escalation for execution
- Develop, monitor and improve processes to ensure shipments are flowing in a timely manner
- Develop, monitor and improve processes to ensure vendors are paid on time and correctly per contract
- Identify and actively seek methods to sustainably eliminate bottlenecks
- Develop business improvement ideas, participate in implementation and ensure the value delivered is being captured
- Assist with development of tools/systems to automate reporting and measurement and monitor RTL value add/cost performance
- Keep track and reports on US Sea execution KPIs
- Provide guidance, assistance and operational support to other logistics officers as required
- Managing Logistics Execution US team when manager is away.
