Administrative Assistant

The A&H Specialty Business Unit takes a forward-thinking, flexible approach to solutions that span a robust slate of products tailored to needs in Special Risk, International Travel Medical, retail and wholesale Travel and Occupational Risk. Information about the Role, Line of Business and Team:

The Occupational Risk Profit Center is part of the Specialty Business Unit (SBU) within A&H and writes the following lines of business: Occupational Accident, Contingent Liability and Employers Liability, Non-Trucking Liability, and Physical Damage for Independent Contractors with ancillary Workers' Compensation for employees. The target markets are the trucking industry and the Gig Economy.

This role will perform a variety of administrative responsibilities in support of the SVP, leadership team and staff, Glastonbury, Eatontown and remotely. This will include scheduling meetings, preparing and submitting expense reports, and organizing team events. The Administrative Assistant will work with the Senior Vice President on connecting organizations, projects, and critical business information, ensuring meetings run smoothly.

What you will do:

    Provide administrative support for the SVP (and others on occasion), i.e. travel & expense, calendar coordination, submission of licensing documentation, etc.
  • Be point-of-contact for general business support across all departments within the Specialty Business Unit (SBU), primarily Occupational Risk, such as underwriting, operations and accounting
  • Arrange small-scale team events inclusive of staff meetings, department activities, holiday parties, and community outreach initiatives
  • Partner with A&H HR Team for employee activities as needed
  • Coordinate office and volunteer activities with Glastonbury Office Manager
  • Schedule and organize all aspects of external client meetings/events and conferences, i.e. coordination of attendees, which may include mass mailings, venue and dinner reservations, assist with C&F employee travel logistics, etc.
  • Organize and maintain electronic files within shared drives, multiple directories and within CRM platform (Salesforce), while confirming data validity and up-to-date information is captured, on a weekly basis
  • Act as a liaison between internal disciplines and assist in follow-up on status of actions, when projects may require it
  • Support all departments with routine requests, including collecting information to build PowerPoints for monthly team meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree preferred or commensurate experience
  • 6+ years of administrative experience in a corporate environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools - Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience handling expense reports, T&E systems and client systems (CRM)
  • Insurance experience a plus
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule, ideally 3-4 days in the office

Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $46,100 to a maximum of $76,900. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee's contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
