Your role.

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Account management for all group benefit plan sponsors including:
    • Implementation
    • Employee open enrollment and communications
    • Assisting internal staff with report production/delivery
  • Assist/work with underwriting & analytics staff with data management and collection from carriers for use in employer plan analytics
  • Assist clients regarding carrier billings, premium statements, enrollment, eligibility, claim inquiry, etc.
  • Maintain client relationship management/mailing list
  • Distribute periodic bulletins, alerts, compliance information/notices/plan materials, etc. to clients
  • Assist with carrier reporting, commission payments, Schedule A 5500 reporting, etc.
  • Support and participate in practice development
  • Assist practice leadership in developing more efficient methods to support client plan management

The qualifications.

  • Bachelors degree preferred but not required
  • 10+ years of experience in a group health insurance agency, health insurance company, third party administrator, benefit consulting organization, or role within a human resources department administering employer benefit plans is preferred
  • A general understanding of group insurance agent/broker, carrier, and/or third-party administrator, and stop-loss markets
  • Working knowledge of the independent agent group benefit market
  • Strong communications skills - verbal and written
  • Proficiency in working with Microsoft tools such as; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Qualified individuals must reside in or near the Auburn Hills, MI, Grand Rapids, MI, Cleveland, OH or Toledo, OH area or be willing to relocate to the area for this opportunity. This position may require some local and inter-state travel.

Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) Information

Compensation is commensurate with technical skills and experience and is provided in accordance with the CO Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

Compensation information posted is based on a position being located in the state of CO. Please review position location for applicable geographic location.

Colorado monthly base range is as follows:

$8,041.67 to $9,583.33
We are pleased to offer eligible staff a robust benefits package. Eligibility and contribution requirements for some of these benefits vary based on the number of hours staff work per week. Highlights include health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance. These standard offerings are effective on the first of the month following your start date. In addition to this, eligible staff are able to take advantage of our Flexible Time Off and various pre-determined holidays as well as a balance fund, 401(k) plan, flexible benefits plans, business-related travel expense, lodging and meal reimbursement for business-related use. A Pension plan is also available for eligible administrative and paraprofessional staff. A discretionary bonus plan is available for eligible staff. Plante Moran also offers Interns and Contractors the option to elect health insurance under our contingent staff medical plan as of the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment in addition to limited paid time sick time. Seasonal staff are not eligible for benefits.
