Full Time Kitchen Manager and Cook - Point Pleasant, WV

My Hope for Tomorrow is looking for a hardworking and dedicated Kitchen Manager and Cook to join our team and prepare delicious meals for our clients. The Kitchen Manager's responsibilities include studying recipes, setting up menus and preparing high-quality dishes. You should be able to understand the needs of people with dietary restrictions. You should be familiar with sanitation regulations. If you have experience with advanced cooking techniques and non-traditional ingredients, we'd like to meet you. Ultimately, you'll prepare and deliver a complete menu that delights our guests.

Responsibilities:
  • Overall responsibility for the kitchen's daily operations.
  • Assists in constructing menus ensuring the variety and quality of food being served.
  • Coordinates menu planning, food ordering and inventory.
  • Estimates food preparation amounts and adjusts recipes according to daily census.
  • Consistently monitors the temperatures of hot and cold foods according to food safety standards and documents results.
  • Completes appropriate forms such as food temperature logs, sanitizer concentration logs and food waste logs.
  • Prepares breakfast, lunch and dinner daily in accordance with schedule, recipes, allergies and dietary restrictions of individuals.
  • Cleans storage, food preparation and serving areas to maintain sanitary conditions.
  • Wash and dry dishes, take out trashes and broken-down boxes, clean dining area and stock items in serving areas as needed.
  • Performs routine deep clean of kitchen area including sweeping/mopping kitchen floor, cleaning inside and out of reach-ins, cleaning cooking equipment, etc.
  • Assists in guaranteeing a high level of health and safety, cleanliness and food preparation that ensures safe working practices are followed.
  • Maintains professional boundaries with clients and interacts with them in an appropriate manner.
  • Any other related tasks that are assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Executive Chef.
  • ServSafe certified.
  • Must pass State of West Virginia criminal background check.
  • Strong health, food, and sanitation knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no assistance.
  • Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management.
  • Attention to detail: taking inventory, food standards, ordering, costs, safety, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
  • Good understanding of useful computer programs (Microsoft Outlook, ordering programs, etc.)
  • Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check

Salary Range:

Generally starting at $13.00 an hour.

The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty, and training.
