**Description**

**Summary:** Processes financial transactions for customers, sell negotiable instruments, cross-sell bank products and services, and provide quality customer service.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** include the following:

* Provides quality customer service to customers and co-workers;

* Opens new consumer and business accounts;

* Accepts and processes deposits, including large commercial deposits, night and mail deposits, and loan payments;

* Gives cash from deposits while ensuring that individual receiving cash is authorized on that account;

* Sells cashier checks, and money orders,

* Transfers funds;

* Monitors cash for detection of counterfeit money;

* Verifies customer identity, endorsements, and signatures while maintaining alertness for forgeries, stop payments, fraudulent items, and false identification;

* Buys and sells cash to maintain teller drawer at set monetary level;

* Buys and sells money to tellers and vault;

* Balances cash drawer at the end of the day;

* Orders money from the vault;

* Occasionally balances the vault;

* Identifies and processes dormant accounts;

* Answers telephones;

* Performs depository account maintenance and enter new accounts into system;

* Serves as a backup Teller as needed;

* Assists branch manager; and

* Performs other work related duties, as assigned.

* Must have the ability to type 60 wpm;

* Must be able to operate 10-key;

* Must be able to perform basic reading, writing and math skills;

* Must be able to complete normal transactions with limited supervision;

* Must be proficient in computers and Microsoft Office software;

* Must have working knowledge of office equipment;

* Must have the ability to handle large amounts of money without error;

* Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and customer relation skills;

* Must have attention to detail and mental concentration for accurately performing tasks;

* Must be able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously;

* Must be able to handle frequent interruptions; and

* Must be able to pass background and credit screening process.

**Education and/or Experience:**

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required;

* Minimum one (1) year experience working as a Teller preferred; and

* Complete New Account Consumer and New Account Business training
