Schedule:

* Expected hours Monday Thursday is from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

+ 9 to 11:30 cook and serve

+ 11:30 clean and organize to government and work standards.

* Expected hours Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

+ 7:00 to 8:30 donation pick up route

+ 8:30 to 11:30 cook and serve

+ 12:00 to 1:00 help with food distribution

+ 1:00 to 3:00 clean and organize, prepare meal plan for next week, set kitchen for weekend cooks.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Food Handlers Certification / ServSafe issued by the Idaho Department of Human Services or obtain within 24 hours of accepting employment.

* Three (3) years paid or volunteer experience directly related to specific responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications and Characteristics:

* Five years paid or volunteer experience directly related to the specific responsibilities.

* Idaho Restaurant Association Food Handler Certification.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Know and understand the function of the kitchen and all the machines used within the kitchen.

- Read all descriptions and instructions of all chemicals used both inside and outside.

- Provide training and supervision in preparation and serving to the volunteers.

- Maintain the kitchen and food to the state and county inspection guidelines.

- Detail oriented.

- Self-starter and team player with a customer service mindset.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain poise under pressure.

- Drive large vehicles and pass The Salvation Army's drivers' safety course.

- Understand, or be willing to learn, food storage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Maintain a clean kitchen and dining room.

* Keep pantry stocked.

* Keep pantry in an orderly fashion with easy accessibility.

* Prepare and cook all meals and develop a monthly menu.

* Responsible for the pick-ups of all food donations (must be a licensed driver).

* Recruit and encourage community participation in giving to the program.

* Maintain and update contact information.

* Generate reports as needed.

* Maintain all department logs.

* Create physical files as needed.

* Maintain supply inventory and order replacement as necessary.

* Must follow instructions given by the Corps Officers for distribution of all meals.

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis

* Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects.

* Ability to reach overhead.

* Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

**MISCELLANEOUS**

Note: Position is partly grant funded. Employment may be contingent upon continued reception of grant awards.
