Job Description Summary of Position: This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while performing a variety of clerical, billing, collection and reimbursement duties to support front office operations. These duties include, but are not limited to: (1) answering the phone in a courteous and cheerful manner; (2) completing financial reviews to include verification of insurance coverage and benefits; (3) counseling persons and families on copays, coinsurance, deductibles and any applicable Monthly Ability to Pay (MAP) fees; (4) scanning documents into the electronic health record; (5) scheduling appointments; (6) greeting and checking persons in virtually or at a front desk; (7) processing collections on accounts; and (8) establishing payment plans to resolve account balances. This position must interact with all persons and agencies in a professional and helpful way, at a variety of workstations. The position must participate in supervisory meetings and training as required and must maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Salary: $16.00/hr $16.75/hr

CredentialsMinimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalency; knowledge of Excel and Word; excellent organizational, customer service and communication skills. Ability to organize workspace and activities using initiative; follow oral and written instructions; must be able to learn how to input information into an electronic health record; ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment; must be able to work with clients, families and staff utilizing tact and diplomacy; must be able to work collaboratively with other team members and programs.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a clinical/medical office setting. Knowledge of insurance preferred. Bilingual in Spanish and/or ASL highly preferred.
