The Continuous Improvement Engineer Intern position will be located in Niles, OH. We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic student to join our team as an Engineer Summer Intern. This position will assist engineering and manufacturing in driving improvements in quality and delivery performance through process control and product improvement initiatives.

Primary responsibility will be to support and assist the Continuous Improvement Organization, planning, implementation, and follow-through of continuous improvement initiatives.
Daily Job Duties and Goals to be accomplished:
- Analyzing production data.
- Eliminating in-process waste and cycle-to-cycle variations.
- Standardizing work for critical operations.
- Creating presentations for trainings and report-outs.
- Implementing Total Productive Maintenance systems.
- Support business growth of lean manufacturing.
- Deploy and audit lean tolls to enhance key focus areas within the Mill.
- Overall support of the Hoshin plan.

Basic/Minimum Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree or master's degree program in one of the following: Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business.
- Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Employees/Interns must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Relevant internship/work/research experience a plus.
- Strong people skills.
- Strong background with Microsoft Office products, Office 365, SAP and CAD.
- The ideal candidate has a strong interest in manufacturing processes and management and problem solving.
- Detailed writing and presentation skills.
- Comfortable with exposure to a manufacturing environment.
