We are looking for a dynamic Substitute Paraprofessional, also known as a school aide, teacher assistant, instructional aide, one-to-one aide, or personal care assistant, to enhance the educational experience of students with special needs. In this role, you will support classroom activities, student learning, and contribute to a nurturing and productive educational environment. Responsibilities include assisting with instructional tasks, classroom management, administrative duties, and student supervision in various settings. Your key role will involve providing tailored assistance and support to foster an environment conducive to both academic and personal development, while caring for students' diverse needs and implementing specific provisions for those with special requirements. You'll work closely with teachers and school administration, playing a crucial part in enriching the educational journey of our students.
Qualifications:
- Minimum associate degree or High School Diploma with Paraprofessional Certificate
- Proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing)
Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups of students
- Assist teacher with classroom management and general supervision of the class
- Help with administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materials
- Supervise students in the cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways, on field trips, and/or during before and after school programs
- Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs
- Support students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans
- Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration
