We are looking for a Manager, Mobile Bot Test. They will own design, development, and integration testing the core robotics software responsible for orchestrating inventory into the Symbotic system and order fulfillment out to customers. They will manage resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing to maintain a best-in-class engineering team. What You'll Do
- Own design, implement and run software test for mobile robot drive and pick n' place capabilities.
- Owns development of simulation in the loop and hardware in the loop testing for verification of robot behaviors.
- Own software integration testing of systems and subsystems.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team and ensure project plans and delivery commitments are met.
- Manage department resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing to maintain a best-in-class engineering team. Hold regular 1:1s with the team.
- Promote and instill best practices in software engineering development.
- Collaborating with software engineering teams on planning, design and development for tests and test tools
- Coach, mentor, and lead a diverse group of software engineers, helping them to grow technically and professionally
- Help attract and develop top tier talent through recruitment activities and workforce development
What You'll Need
- Minimum 10 Years of experience in an engineering field, minimum of 2 years spent as a team lead or manager of software development
- M.S. or B.S. in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering (any) or equivalent
- Experience leading teams in an Agile development environment
- Demonstrated ability to test complex systems; experience testing robotic systems.
- Experience with general purpose programming environments, languages and scripting systems, data analysis packages, Linux, C++, git
- Experience with scripting tools Python & Bash; experience with testing automation designed in Python and PyTest is desirable
- Familiarity with Docker, Jenkins, GitLab Automation
- A hands-on problem solver who can clearly communicate results.
- Knowledge of software quality and testing automation principles
