We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic medical team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping patients recover and improve essential skills that have been lost due to illness, injury, or disability. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the rehabilitation process, a patient-centric approach, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient recovery, maintain their health, and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities:
**Must be willing and able to work in both an outpatient and inpatient/acute setting**
1. Conduct patient assessments and evaluations to determine their physical condition, limitations, medical histories, and personal goals.
2. Develop personalized treatment plans that cater to each patient's specific needs and monitor their progress.
3. Use a variety of therapeutic techniques to improve the patient's motor skills, balance, strength, and coordination.
4. Educate patients and their family members on the therapeutic exercises they can do at home to speed up recovery.
5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, and physiotherapists to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
6. Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
7. Adhere to professional standards, home care policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
8. Provide guidance and support to Occupational Therapy Assistants and other junior staff members.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
2. Current and valid certification as an Occupational Therapist.
3. A minimum of 2 years of professional experience as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.
4. Proficient in therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation techniques.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and understandably.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess patients' needs and develop effective treatment plans.
7. Compassionate and patient, with a genuine interest in helping patients recover and improve their quality of life.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
9. Knowledge of current regulations and guidelines that apply to Occupational Therapy.
10. Proficiency in electronic medical records is a plus.
