Job Description

The Operating Projects unit within the Program Management division is seeking a knowledgeable individual who would like a career at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory as a Multi-Discipline Engineer. The position duties include Researching, analyzing, tests, and/or designs products or processes primarily involving two or more of the following engineering disciplines: chemical, computer, data, electrical, facilities, materials, mechanical, nuclear and/or quality. Develops and recommends new processes and technologies to achieve cost efficiency and improved quality. Ensures effectiveness in engineering and design to bring production efforts to scale with maximum efficiency and productivity. Analyzes and develops solutions to engineering problems. Develops and applies engineering standards and procedures and provides advice on issues within the engineering field. May develop system and component requirements and tests based on overall project and customer needs. May support system-level troubleshooting or testing, including of NNPP simulators. May prepare and review documentation and procedures for equipment installation, operations, and maintenance. May provide project engineering functions such as planning, cost estimating, subcontract management, and management of budgets across multiple organizations.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 2 years of relevant experience; or Currently or previously NPE qualified; or CTE/ACRS and 1 year EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and 1 year as SRE.

Previous experience with Project sponsors

Previous experience working with subcontractors.

Previous electrical engineering experience

Pay Range
$82,400 - $128,800 annually

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
