The Concept
The 380-seat restaurant is dedicated to the foods of our region—from Gulf coast seafood to Hill Country barbecue to Rio Grande Valley-inspired botana platters. Located on the northern edge of the Pearl neighborhood, this restaurant will occupy a historic building that has been home to many storied establishments.

Position SummaryThe Culinarian will effectively work ala carte lunch, dinner, and events. S/he assists with food production and staff meals, assist in maintaining smooth operations of the kitchen as well as ensure food is prepared according to recipes and techniques as specified. The Culinarian assists in training line staff to kitchen standards.
- Set up his/her own station and mise in place to executive chef specifications and recipes.
- Completes house production and organization, able to expedite private events with little or no supervision.
- Cooks and prepares food to order on a daily basis.
- Properly store all mise in place and submit production needs for following day by shift end.
- Works all line stations as required.
- Assure safe, clean, and healthy work conditions for all personnel.
- Communicate with the lead or sous chef on duty to assure proper service according to assigned shift.
- Assist in training staff in kitchen standards (if needed).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and positive work ethic.
- Ability to work efficiently and quickly.
- Teamwork.
- Must be able to work well under pressure.
- Willingness to take direction from management and represent the company appropriately.
Required Education and Experience
- High school or vocational school coursework in kitchen basics, such as food safety is preferred
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing and working of 8 hours or more.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Schedule will reflect business demands. Long and unusual hours on occasion.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
