Responsibilities

We currently have a great opportunity available for an Accounting Director. Responsible for developing, implementing and directing effective internal control and financial reporting systems to achieve company goals and support effective decision making by management. Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS); federal, state and local tax requirements; and reporting requirements by all corporate functions. Manage the external audit relationship and project administration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop, document, implement and direct the preparation of financial reports in compliance with IFRS, including the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and related financial disclosures.
2. Review and document current accounting policies and practices to ensure consistency with corporate accounting guidelines. Determine accounting policies and procedures by researching and interpreting accounting guidance.
3. Responsible for managing the day to day relationship with the external audit team, and establishing and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
4. Direct all General Accounting tasks and activities, month end close, including processing of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliation. Foster a team culture of continuous process improvement and quality management.
5. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization; i.e., evaluation of projects, initiatives, and/or investments. Present findings to senior management in support of strategic objectives.
6. Maintain effective relationships with vendors and service providers, such as banks, auditors, 3rd party leasing companies, insurance agencies, etc.
7. Lead the Accounting team by coaching, mentoring and developing team members as well as providing career development planning and opportunities
8. Lead special projects as assigned, and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

  • 10-12 years of related experience required.

  • CPA or CMA preferred.

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite of software. Must be knowledgeable of and have experience with integrated accounting software systems.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, vendors, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
