Corporate Sanitarian - 3rd Shift This position will support both our Oostburg and Plymouth facility location. As our Corporate Sanitarian, you'll play a crucial role in overseeing the Sanitation program at both our Plymouth and Oostburg facilities for effectiveness, efficiency, and process through training, outreach, and observation. Ensure the Sanitation Team prioritizes safety and food safety as foundational aspects within the sanitation process. Serve as the primary sanitation team expert, fostering ongoing improvement and growth through hands-on floor leadership both within the Sanitation Team and cross-functional department areas. Monitor sanitation practices for efficiency, employee practices, sanitation effectiveness, and food safety/quality risks. Create, manage, trend, and communicate sanitation Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of sanitation awareness and mitigate sanitation risks in different operational areas. Conduct sanitation gap analysis, identify areas for improvement, and assist with submitting reports. Participate and oversee USDA, FDA, and WDA sanitation audits along with other sanitation audits. Develop and maintain Sanitation Standard Operation Procedures (SSOP), Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), work instructions, plays, and other sanitation related duties. Create and manage sanitation skills matrix to facilitate career development of sanitation employees. Actively work on existing and new equipment installations to ensure SSOP’s are developed, trained, validated, and verified. Ensure chemical safety training is completed annually for all sanitation related employees. Serve as the main contact for the facilities' chemical supplier and oversee expenditure on chemicals and equipment. Establish and maintain a structured sanitation training program to provide comprehensive training on proper sanitation practices and procedures for all employees. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Quality Systems and/or Vice President of Food Safety & Quality Systems. What You Can Offer Associates Degree in Food Science or Microbiology or equivalent experience. 3-5 years experience in a sanitation role is desired, or previous experience in a management role preferred. Good written and verbal communication skills. Good decision-making skills regarding quality standards. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements. Knowledge of sanitation best practices, cleaning chemicals, 7-Step Sanitation Process, and important sanitation related factors. Knowledge of food standard methods. Good organizational skills and analytical ability. Knowledge of FDA, USDA, and WDATCP standards as they relate to sanitation and food safety. Proficiency in applying principles of sanitary design. Thorough understanding of all sanitation chemicals and their uses. General understanding of at-risk microorganisms within a cheese facility. Ability to travel to both the Plymouth and Oostburg facility locations as needed. Ability to work occasional weekend and 1st shift hours as needed.
