SELECTIVE SOLDER OPERATOR

JOB DESCRIPTION – Selective Solder Operator

1. Organization

Employee Classification: Hourly/Non-Exempt/Full-Time/Regular

Area: Production – Secondary Operations

Reports to: Secondary Operations Department Manager

1. Goal of this Position

Selective Solder and process printed circuit boards and other electronic assemblies per IPC-A-610 standard, bills of material and customer documentation and Aegis work instructions.

Work within the parameters of the QM System to help Variosystems achieve general and company-specific quality efforts and growth goals.

1. Tasks and Responsibilities

• Selective Solder machine operator/Visual inspection using magnifying lamps and microscopes.
• Preventive maintenance – follow recommended manufacturer’s daily, weekly and monthly procedures
• Cleaning inside and around machines
• Check the quality of the products, request assistance from the programmer if adjustments are needed to eliminate issues
• May use special tooling of custom assembly fixtures to solder assemblies
• Report all defective material to area lead or manager
• Enter selective solder defects into Aegis database
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Keep the area clean
• Maintain material traceability as required.

1. Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of IPC-A-610
• Communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written
• Knowledge of Aegis
