Lab Tech - 2nd shift

The Korex Companies are contract manufacturers and packagers of a wide variety of consumer, industrial and institutional products. Korex is looking to add a lab tech to our team. Applicant must have experience working in a lab. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is ideal. We are looking to fill a spot on our morning shift working from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Responsibilities:

• Perform testing and analysis of materials and finished product to ensure they are fit for use as per customers’ technical specifications and documentation
• Ensure good laboratory practices are used and test results are accurate and recorded such that they are permanent, controlled and can not be change
• Follow Good Manufacturing principles and Good Laboratory practice.
• Ensure results are accurate and recorded for all lab work
• Schedule maintenance and calibration on lab equipment and instrumentation as required.
• Calibrate, on a daily basis, lab equipment and instrumentation
• Ensure materials and finished product meet customer’s specifications by performing the necessary testing as defined by the customer
• Make material and finished product release decisions.
• Create CoA’s (certificates of analysis) as required for the intermediate materials and/or finished products that are shipped to customers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely fashion
• Perform audits
• Perform inventory
• Maintain safe and clean work environment
• Maintain quality standards
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Perform calibration checks
• Help develop and train protocols and standard operating procedures as necessary or required in lab
• Train other lab personnel on customers’ test methods
• Ensure line checks (attribute testing) are being performed by the production line personnel and at the right frequency
• Purge files and records as per retention limits
• Run PPE fit testing of employees’ respirators
• Serve as back-up to Lab Manager with regard to document control of customers’ technical documentation and MSDS sheets

Qualifications:

• One year of college chemistry or equivalent experience minimum
• Previous experience in manufacturing environment preferred
• Previous experience in a lab is a must
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
• Math skills to compute formulas and inventories
• Computer skills
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
