House Cleaner

Karma Diva Green Cleaning has opportunities for House Cleaning Professionals to work as Independent Contractors caring for our clients' homes via house cleaning, tasking, and/or pet care services.

This can be Full or Part Time, in the suburban areas West of Philadelphia; Northwest Philadelphia; the Main Line; and into the Phoenixville/West Chester area. Typically, we try to keep your schedule within about 30 minutes from your home.

You need your own reliable vehicle and a clear background check.

Opportunities for advancement include our Quality Assurance Team Mentor role and our Regional Team Leader role. Eligibility for these roles is based on experience.

Pay Rate averages at $24/hr with beginning base pay at a little over $15 per hour + tips. Tips regularly take pay grade to overall hourly rate over $24/hr. This is an Independent Contractor Position.

This position has worked very well in the past for students, artists, and parents with childcare - even if it's just 2 days per week. We can also accommodate someone looking for a full schedule. Most successful hires stay with this job for 3 years or more.

Once we have your application, we will screen it to make sure our initial requirements can be met:

- You need YOUR OWN VEHICLE and you will pay for your own cleaning supplies as we are looking for Independent Contractors at this time. We will provide you with a list of what you will need, this supply list is what our clients have sought us out for specifically and we insist you work within these parameters.

- You must pass a criminal background check and be able to supply 3 Professional References.

2. If you pass that screening, we will send you a prompt and ask you to read about us and then tell us about why you are our ideal candidate. This is how we will know if you have researched our company and how you are likely to present yourself to our team and clients.

Please understand, we are a green company and a closely knit team and have set our standards as such. Knowledge and application of green cleaning methods is highly valued.

3. If our first 2 steps have gone well, we will reach out to you to SCHEDULE A ZOOM INTERVIEW. This will give us both a chance to go over the logistics of working together before deciding whether to meet in person.

On this call: We will go through a slideshow that should answer most of your questions relating to the role. It is a good time to ask any preliminary questions either of us may want to know before embarking on a business relationship together.

If all goes well, we will set up an In-Person Interview on this call.

- Once we've decided to set up an in-person interview we will send you an email with links to our contract and a request for your professional references.

4. IN-PERSON INTERVIEW: Here we will discuss anything remaining around your Professional References. We will also collect your inform to run a background check. We will discuss any remaining questions or topics to ensure a positive first day experience. *This is a great opportunity to make sure technology is on our side and exchange any necessary equipment needs before your FIRST DAY!

Once we’ve advanced through the In-Person interview we will run your background check and call professional references before sharing your new schedule!

We provide a living wage and wellness support to our Professional Home Cleaning Technicians in order to provide exemplary service for our clients.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Karma Diva Green Cleaning currently has full and part-time positions open for experienced house cleaning professionals who are motivated, honest, hardworking, detail and design-oriented, personable, and compassionate.

Our clients are typically set up on a recurring schedule for maintenance or deep cleaning. 

A thorough background check will be conducted before you are hired and no fewer than 3 professional references are required.

Local Travel is required as we have clients ranging from Philadelphia to Chester County, PA. While we do our best to keep everyone as close to home as possible, reliable transportation and up-to-date insurance are a must-have.

If you are not local to these areas but are a good fit otherwise we may still be interested in connecting! We would love to expand into the following regions: Lansdale/Doylestown, West Chester/Phoenixville, Main Line, Northwest Philadelphia

Pay scale is dependent upon experience with the team and our operating hours are M-F 9-5, give or take. Occasional weekend work is sometimes available and is paid at a higher rate.

We can be flexible with a school schedule or if you have limited availability, all we ask is for ample notice so that other arrangements can be made.

Constructive communication skills- It is important to our clients that we hire associates that will listen closely to instructions and take constructive criticism with grace as necessary.

This position is open to someone who plans to grow with this company for at least a year. Our work is based on a high level of trust which takes time to earn and is valued highly for the long term.

Contracts begin with a 1 month agreement. Then a one-on-one with the District Leader will determine advancement to higher payment arrangement and a 3 month contract. Another one-on-one with the District Leader will determine a higher payment arrangement and a 6 month contract. After 6 months we will meet every 6 months to check in and determine the next contract that makes sense.

DESIGN YOUR OWN SCHEDULE!

We request 2 weeks notice for regular availability changes and you are asked to confirm your upcoming appointments 1-2 weeks ahead.

An ideal candidate will have:

- Experience cleaning in other people's homes. General knowledge about what is and is not appropriate in this setting.

- Passion for sustainable living. We are looking for like-minded green cleaning professionals.

- An eye for detail AND the ability to work efficiently

- The ability to lift 30+ lbs. Must be physically capable to clean 2-3 houses per day as part of a team or 1-2 houses solo.

- Reliable transportation - Ridesharing is only allowed with other Karma Diva associates for our clients' protection.

Bathroom Cleaning, Kitchen Cleaning, General Room Cleaning, Bed Changing, Refrigerator Cleaning, Cabinet Cleaning, Dishes, Surface Polishing, Furniture and Floor Treatment, Wall Washing, Laundry, Cleaning Floors on Hands and Knees --- Can you prove you are efficient? Think in terms of "saving steps" without cutting corners.

- Must be able to lift 30 lbs.

- Technology Friendly

The ability to effectively communicate with clients and co-workers is crucial. A basic understanding of Google calendar and spreadsheet will serve us all well as it is our main means of communication.

We also have weekly team meetings over Zoom so this must be installed on your phone to be eligible.
