Join the INN crew of culinary professionals as the Executive Sous Chef! Position pays $104,000 salary.

The Inn at Perry Cabin is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and creative Executive Sous Chef who has a profound interest in the culinary arts, a strong desire to build industry knowledge, and a drive to meet the highest standards in our profession.

The Chefs at the Inn at Perry Cabin are on a quest to return Chesapeake Bay cooking to its fundamental elements. Our exceptional group of talented, creative, and thoughtful crew members each bring a unique perspective and consistent determination to our kitchen. The Executive Sous Chef will guide this generation of cooks through dynamic leadership support. The ideal candidate will convey the ambitious vision of Chef Kevin Ketron and uphold the Inn’s unique traditions while continuously looking to innovate and progress.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Passionate about developing the crew: coordinates selection, training, development, coaching and evaluations.
  • Sets and maintains high standards by assisting in the planning and development of menus for the hotel and ensuring the correct preparation and presentation of a consistent level for all food items.
  • Manages all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible.
  • Thrives in a changing business environment and leads the team in ensuring efficient financial management of the business.
  • A memorable, creative leader who successfully operates in a space free from a traditional box.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship required. Culinary degree preferred.
  • Food Handling and Sanitation certificates required.
  • Minimum three years of experience and/or training in the Culinary Department of a luxury hotel, with three years in a management capacity preferred.
  • The ability to comfortably lead a team in a busy atmosphere.
  • A passion for hospitality, food and beverage, and the guest experience.
