We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Quality Control Technician to join our team. In this critical role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring precision and excellence in our CNC manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inspection and Testing

· Conduct thorough visual and dimensional inspections of CNC-machined parts to verify adherence to specified tolerances and quality standards.

2. Precision Measurement

· Utilize advanced measuring tools, including the Zeiss Calypso CMM, calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators, to accurately measure and analyze components.

3. Coordinate Measure Machine (CMM) Operation:

· Program, run, and maintain our Zeiss Calypso CMM machine.

4. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T):

· Apply expertise in GD&T principles to interpret and verify complex engineering drawings, ensuring that CNC-machined components adhere to specified geometric tolerances and dimensional requirements. Collaborate with engineering teams to communicate and resolve any GD&T-related issues during inspections.

5. Documentation:

· Maintain meticulous records of inspection results, including comprehensive inspection reports and detailed measurements.

6. Process Monitoring:

· Collaborate with production teams to continuously monitor the CNC machining process and address any deviations or quality-related issues.

7. Root Cause Analysis:

· Investigate and identify the root causes of defects or non-conformities, working closely with engineering and production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.

8. First Article and Final Inspection:

· Conduct first article inspections and perform final inspections to guarantee products meet the required quality standards.

9. Process Improvement:

· Collaborate on process improvement initiatives, offering insights and suggestions to enhance efficiency and product quality.

10. Compliance:

· Ensure all processes and products comply with industry standards and company quality control procedures.

The ideal candidate brings proven experience in manufacturing, with extensive experience in a CNC machining environment. This candidate must be well versed in the CMM operations, including experience in programming, and maintaining the equipment. This individual must be meticulous in their attention to detail and have a deep commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards. Minimum qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in a related field is a plus.

· Proven experience as a Quality Control Technician in a manufacturing environment, particularly within a CNC machining environment.

· Strong knowledge of quality control principles and techniques, including the use of precision measuring tools.

· Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

· Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred qualifications:

· BSME or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Engineering.

· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, would prefer technical training in QC field.
  • Candidates with relevant work experience in a CNC machining or quality control role will be considered in lieu of formal education.
