PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Program Trainer within the Human Resource department is responsible for developing and implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion training programs and initiatives to enhance the skills, knowledge and performance of the company workforce. This position will serve as a catalyst for creating and inclusive workplace culture by providing expertise, guidance, and impactful learning experiences. Works closely with other employees in Human Resources, while also building relationships with managers and employees of the Alliance. Collaborates with various departments, committees, and stakeholders to identify training needs, design, and deliver effective training initiatives, evaluate, analyze, and report their impact on the organization wide workplace inclusive culture.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and develop comprehensive DEI training programs and materials that address various levels and departments within the organization.
  • Develop content tailored and aligned with organization's values, goals, and specific needs.
  • Design and implement training programs that embrace and celebrate cultural diversity, while ensuring they are accessible and relatable to all participants and all cultures represented within the organization.
  • Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions, workshops, and seminars to educate employees on diversity, equity, and inclusion topics.
  • Design tailored training modules that can be delivered through e-learning platforms or in-person that address specific cultural nuances relevant to the Alameda Alliance organization.
  • Utilize diverse teaching methodologies to ensure effective learning experiences and all learning types.
  • Collaborate with HR, organization leadership and department heads to identify DEI needs and integrate training initiatives into the organizational framework.
  • Provide consultation and guidance on DEI matters, topics, policies, and practices.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, research, and best practices related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource within the organization, offering insights and recommendations.
  • Assess the impact and effectiveness of DEI training programs through feedback, assessment, surveys, and data analysis.
  • Continuously refine and enhance training content and delivery methods based on evaluations and feedback.
  • Facilitate meaningful conversations, workshops, and forums that encourage open dialogue and understanding around diversity, equity, and inclusion topics.
  • Advocate and create safe spaces for employees to engage in discussions and learning opportunities.
  • Assist in implementing DEI strategies and initiatives, providing guidance on their execution and impact assessment.
  • Support teams, departments, and committees in translating DEI training insights into actionable steps for an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Track, analyze and measure the effectiveness of DEI programs and initiatives.
  • Provide regular reports and analysis to stakeholders, advocating for continued commitment to DEI efforts.
  • Engage in continuous education and self-reflection to deepen cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Perform all job functions with integrity and provide timely internal and external responses and overall customer service in a cooperative, professional, and respectful manner.
  • Comply with the organization's Code of Conduct, Track Values, and all organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exposure for long periods of time working closely with computer screens and monitors.
  • Spend long periods of time working at a desk and interacting with computers and computer accessories daily in the performance of duties and responsibilities.
  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Frequently use telephone headsets for group meetings, organizational leadership meetings, one-on-ones, and online training.
  • Be able to handle constant communication (both written and verbal) with departmental teams, leaders, as well as other employees throughout the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION OR TRAINING EQUIVALENT TO:

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences, Communication, Business Administration, or related or related field is required.

  • Professional DEI Certification strongly preferred.

MINIMUM YEARS OF ADDITIONAL RELATED EXPERIENCE:

  • At least a minimum of 3 years of experience working directly in DEI initiatives with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful training programs.
  • At least 3-5 years of progressive experience in the diversity, equity, and inclusion field focusing on facilitating, and evaluating training initiatives.
  • 3 years of experience and working knowledge and understanding of Human Resource Management and operations.
  • At least 2-4 years of experience in designing and delivering diversity, equity, and inclusion training programs in a corporate or organizational setting, healthcare setting is preferred.


SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, ABILITIES, LICENSE):

  • Strong understanding of DEI Principles and Concepts, theories, and best practices.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions, workshops, and forums around DEI topics effectively.
  • Ability to navigate and respect diverse cultural backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey DEI concepts and engage with various stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation and ability to deliver training content in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
  • Ability to assess the effectiveness of training programs, gather feedback, and use data for continuous improvement.
  • Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams, HR, leadership, and employees at all levels to integrate DEI initiatives into organizational strategies.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and create a supportive environment for transparency, open dialogue around the principles of DEI.
  • Ability to be flexible in responding to dynamic situations and adjusting training approaches accordingly.
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership and promoting and advocating for DEI within the organization.
  • Proficient in the use of multiple technologies, industry programs, and modalities for the purpose of delivering meaningful and interactive training sessions or courses.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS), Electronic Learning platforms, online learning programs, and industry leading virtual learning programs.
  • A motivator with a positive mental attitude with the ability to engage, interact, and inspire learning and retention of DEI concepts, and always behaviors.
  • Ability to connect with courtesy, introduce with integrity, communicate with care, ask with respect, respond with empathy, and exhibit excellence and compassion.

SALARY RANGE $105,853.04-$158,779.55 ANNUALLY
