ELS is hiring for the position of Lead Cook in Wautoma, Wisconsin.

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and talented Lead Cook to join our dynamic restaurant team. The Lead Cook will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness, and efficiency. Responsibilities:

Cooking:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision and creativity.
  • Ensure all menu items are consistently executed to meet our quality standards.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to develop and refine recipes.

Kitchen Management:

  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Oversee and delegate tasks to restaurant staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor food preparation and cooking times to maintain efficiency.

Staff Advising:

  • Provide guidance and training to kitchen staff.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Effectively communicate with team members to ensure a cohesive kitchen workflow.

Inventory and Stock Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels of kitchen supplies and ingredients.
  • Place orders for food, ensuring a well-stocked and efficient kitchen.
  • Keep track of expiration dates and rotate stock to minimize waste.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct regular quality checks on ingredients and finished dishes.
  • Address any issues with food quality or presentation promptly.

Requirements:

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
