OVERVIEW: The ESS Area Manager serves an assistant to the Regional Manager providing administrative support, representing ESS for numerous school districts, and overseeing and implementing recruitment strategies and retention efforts within the area.

SCHEDULE:

  • Work Hours: Monday-Friday; 8-5pm
  • Work Location: Hybrid
  • Travel Required: Up to 75% travel within the AMAESD area is required. Travel among district is reimbursed by the company.
  • FLSA Status: Exempt

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with school employees in supporting each school's specific program needs
  • Traveling among the AMAESDA area up to 75% of the time visiting ESS staff and school buildings. Travel expenses are covered by the company.
  • Providing supervision and oversight to direct reports within assigned school districts, including classroom aides, instructional assistants, secretaries, bus aides and other ESS staff
  • Managing communication with potential candidates and work with hiring coordinators by facilitating the hiring process as needed, including keeping applicants moving through the hiring process in a timely manner.
  • Exercising appropriate judgment in addressing specific situations and respond with immediate, effective solutions and/or promptly notify program management
  • Other duties as assigned or as become evident.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages and motivates staff (including hiring, staff discipline, performance management and recognition duties).
  • Assess staffing needs, and recruit staff using methods such as newspaper advertisements or attendance at job fairs.
  • Train, direct and appraise staff.
  • Make daily schedules for proper manpower utilization.
  • Plans and organizes workload and staff assignments.
  • Issues written and oral instructions; assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
