As a Business Continuity Lead, you will support all business plan activities necessary to enable LGA to manage a crisis event as well as meet compliance requirements for BCP planning.

The position's primary goals will be in support of the implementation and development of comprehensive business continuity strategy and programs, plans, and toolsets that support response, develop resiliency, and enable recovery from events that disrupt business operations. You will use the established framework and methodology to manage all business continuity life cycle activities, including risk assessment, business impact analysis, strategy development, implementation, testing and review of associated plans. You will coordinate the periodic review, validation, and workflow testing of documented business continuity plans and participate in organization-wide training and communications. The position provides support for internal audits and regulatory exams of compliance with required regulations.

Responsibilities
    Collaborate with diverse business units to craft and uphold a comprehensive BCP program ensuring swift business recovery and effective emergency response management.
  • Update and maintain the BCP Framework for Legal and General America and its subsidiaries including goals, objectives and scope for business continuity plans and Crisis Management.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to uphold robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans for Legal & General America and its subsidiaries.
  • Perform routine business continuity tests, including tabletop exercises and live simulations, to fortify organizational resilience. Document outcomes and propose solutions for any identified issues.
  • Lead department BCP Coordinators to develop effective working relationships and documented BCP plans.
  • Support and assist in the development of BCP planning and goals.
  • Liaise with key infrastructure teams to identify gaps, set recovery time objectives and convey business needs/expectations.
  • Hold business plans to Enterprise BCP goals and challenge business leaders on identification of critical functions and needs.
  • Ensure program adheres to federal and/or state regulations.
  • Evaluate applicable laws and regulations to determine impact on organizational activities.
  • Write reports to summarize testing activities, including descriptions of goals, planning, scheduling, execution, results, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Report to the Crisis Management Steering Committee Meeting and define on-going goals, objectives and initiatives.
  • Identify and make recommendations for change and adaptation to meet the needs of the business.
  • Identify and make recommendations for solutions to infrastructure obstacles and business challenges.
  • Develop and execute the maintenance and testing programs for all business continuity plans.
  • Identify and recommend enhanced plan maintenance strategies that remain flexible to organizational growth, change and resource capabilities.
  • Lead and facilitate execution of the plan and support plan navigation for the business at the time of an event.
  • Support Crisis Management Committee with critical components of the plan in order that they can make critical decisions.
  • Provide visibility and reporting to the Crisis Management Committee on the critical functions, individuals and infrastructure within the business plans.
  • Develops and maintains a business recovery plan and procedure; reviews, revises, and expands existing plans and protocols.
  • Conducts risk assessments for various departments and functions, analyzing potential business impact of unpredictable business interruptions such as natural disasters, security breach, legal claims, and market disruptions.
  • Collaborates with IT staff to develop and implement best practices to protect and restore data and systems in the event of natural disasters, viruses, and hackers.
  • Identifies and implements recovery operations and methods to allow the company to function at limited or partial capacity in the event that part or all of the infrastructure is damaged or destroyed.
  • Develops and provides staff training on business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends during a crisis event.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education

  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related field or equivalent, along with relevant technical certifications and substantial work experience.
  • Business Continuity certification preferred (e.g., Business Continuity Certified Planner (BCCP) or Certified business Continuity Professional (CBCP))

Experience/Knowledge

  • Demonstrate over a decade of experience in leading business continuity initiatives within organizational settings.
  • Knowledge of technology and business concepts, life cycles and processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with a great degree of autonomy.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize and direct the testing of emergency response and recovery support.
  • Thorough understanding of risk management.
  • Excellent strategic, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to think through hypothetical situations and concepts and to identify risks and weaknesses in various business processes.
  • Ability to interface with managers at all levels within the organization as well as with external vendors
  • Ability to collaborate with others to develop an emergency plan.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What's in it for you?

The expected hiring compensation range for this position is $117,500 - $161,600 annually.

This position will work in a hybrid environment with up to 3 days in office per week.

The total compensation package for this position may include other elements, such as a sign-on bonus, long term incentives, and annual bonuses. This role is eligible to participate in the Legal & General America Annual Incentive Plan. The current target payment for the position is 20% of base salary, modified for corporate and individual performance. Bonuses are pro-rated based on start date. This role has 20 vacation days and 10 sick days that are accrued on a bi-weekly basis. Employees also have 9 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
