Overview

110,000/year annual salary

The position has responsibility and accountability for all preventative, on-demand, and improvement maintenance activities at all Madison, WI sites; Envigo RMS - Teklad Custom and Standard Diet production facilities, RMS Bioproducts production facility and the Madison RMS Distribution Center. Additionally, the position is responsible for the upkeep, on-going maintenance and improvement of specific safety and security equipment and programs including employee education and compliance.

Responsibilities
    Directly supervise maintenance staff - maintenance technicians covering all shifts of all Madison sites
  • Actively participate in the implementation and maintenance of the facility's health & safety program
  • Ensure safe, timely and cost-effective implementation of all building, grounds and equipment preventative maintenance in compliance with established quality management system
  • Ensure safe, timely and cost-effective repair of buildings and repair and replacement of equipment on-demand
  • Pursue multi-sourcing of equipment and service providers to ensure competitive costs associated with building and equipment improvement and replacement
  • Responsible for maintenance staff availability, training, and training documentation to ensure full functionality of facility and facilities' ability to meet customer demand and quality system compliance
  • Responsible for maintenance staff work performance monitoring, feedback and development
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate maintenance performance reporting - e.g., repairs completed, equipment & process downtime, labor utilization
  • Participate in a variety of meeting and work groups pertaining to business performance, improvement initiatives, project identification, development, and implementation
  • Participate in the development and execution of multi-year capital investment planning through project identification, design, costing and coordination
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or other advance degree in manufacturing/engineering preferred

Industrial Maintenance professional designation including state recognized trades such as Industrial Mechanic/Millwright, Master Electrician preferred

Three + years of people leadership work experience within a manufacturing and/or distribution work environment preferred

Multi-facility support experience preferred

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

Additional Skills

People leadership skill and recent, relevant experience

Industrial maintenance hands-on work experience - mechanical, fabrication, electrical, electronic, plumbing, HVAC, process air and steam

Continuous improvement - Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, ISO quality system environment

Microsoft Office Suite - user skills

Mathematic skills that include geometric and volumetric calculation ability

Ability to lift 50 lb. objects to shoulder height

Ability to climb and descend stairs and vertical ladders

Aptitude to comprehend solid and liquid process flow

Willingness to work weekends as needed
