Five Below Summer Internship Program is ON! Our limited open positions for Summer 2024 focus on company strategic initiatives in the exciting environment of value driven, fun-focused retail. We are seeking energetic, responsible go-getters with innovative ideas, ready to actively participate in company initiatives.

Location:

In conjunction with WoWToWN's current Ways of Working, we intend to offer a hybrid program for our interns, ensuring both a flexible and immersive experience. All applicants should plan to be in the Philadelphia area and access to our Home Office throughout the entirety of the program.

Internship Details:

• 10 weeks: June 3rd – August 9th
• Full time – 40 hours/wk
• Paid – $17/hr
• Greater Philadelphia location – on site/office requirements vary by internship position but should be generally considered hybrid. On average, an intern can expect to be in our home office 3 times per week.
• Hands on, results driven projects. No coffee fetching here!

Project Details:

As the intern for Store Services, your job is to drive operational excellence and deliver insightful analytical support for our new store services platforms such as Helium Balloons and Ear Piercing. As part of the new Store Services team, your role is critical to our ability to grow sales in support of Five Below's store potential. As a trend-right, value retailer, we're looking for someone with a maniacal focus on the executional details and analytics that can bring our big picture strategies to life. Success in this role will require robust organizational skills, attention to detail, and comfort managing disparate sets of data to develop actionable reporting.

They will primarily be responsible for delivering two key capstone projects & presentations (70% of focus). The strategic project is focused on developing a situation assessment and recommended strategy and content calendar to address key operational gaps. The analytical project will be focused on developing a hindsight and go-forward recommendation for the graduation seasonal balloon program.

They while gain experience and exposure to operational support through management of the Store Services WowCrew inbox to help triage and resolve issues for stores related to our helium balloons and ear piercing initiatives. They will also have exposure to project management for further expansion of our helium balloon program (30% of focus).

Requirements:

• Must be actively enrolled as an incoming Junior – Senior in a relevant Bachelor's program (See Desired Skills).
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office products & remote meeting software
• Must have availability for the full 10-week program as space is limited
• Must be a self-starter, highly passionate & detail oriented
• Active ability to problem solve & communicate effectively
• Knowledge and passion for our brand is a plus!

Desired Skills:

• Area of Study: Retail Management, Communications, Business, or related program.
• Candidate must be open to working in stores and completing training/hands on experiences to learn how to inflate balloons & pierce ears to develop deeper understanding & empathy for the Wow Crew (estimated ~1 day per week)
• Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to present topics in group settings
• Continuous learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to juggle competing priorities, balancing strategy, analytics, and operational support to make meaningful progress on our growth plan
• Conscientious communicator who can clearly and succinctly summarize issues and respond to the needs of our store teams
• Seeks new methods and creative strategies to simplify execution, increase knowledge retention and improve operational excellence
• Proactive, self-starter, comfortable working both independently and in collaboration with others
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel)
