About this job

Basic Purpose and Objective

Under general supervision, and according to established policies and procedures performs tasks related to the making and repair of cell dies, set up of machine packs and managing supply inventory for the department.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge and use of honing machinery, laser etching machinery and optical comparator.
  • Set up and operates related tool room equipment, such as mills, lathes, multiple types of grinders, and drills to meet specifications.
  • Prepares tool packs.
  • Fabricates machine parts & tooling
  • Understands and has knowledge of progressive die assembly.
  • Maintains 6S requirements for work area.
  • Prepares semi-finished blanks of carbide or steel.
  • Start-up department for producing inhouse dies.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.

Experience Required:
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form. Deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Practical application of fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion.
  • Ability to read and write following quality instructions and related postings. Must be able to communicate technical information between tool design and manufacturing activities.
