Fire sprinklers are critical instruments for fighting fires and saving lives. They control or extinguish fires in the early stages, making it easier for firefighters to put out any fire that remains. As a fire sprinkler professional, you'll play a significant role in ensuring the safety of people, buildings and homes.

In this role, you'll be responsible for a wide variety of sprinkler systems, including the installation, service, and repair of wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and foam suppression systems, as well as fire pumps and backflow devices.

• Apprenticeship training takes place primarily on the job, under the supervision and guidance of our highly experienced fire sprinkler professionals.
• There is no charge for the training and education you receive.
• Get PAID to work and learn, thereby earning a credential without taking on any student loan debt.
• Johnson Controls provides wage increases throughout the program as apprentices accomplish the required milestones.
• When you complete your apprenticeship you earn a credential from the U.S. Department of Labor and also may earn college credits.
• As an apprentice you are an employee of Johnson Controls and thus would receive all of the benefits extended to permanent employees, including health insurance, worker’s compensation insurance and paid leave.
• Sprinkler Journeymen whom have graduated thru the AFSA apprenticeship program are highly recognized by all sprinkler contractors in the industry.

Minimal Qualifications Include: 18 years old, GED or HS diploma, Valid Drivers License, pass background and drug screen, pass a Human Performance Evaluation, be physically capable of performing the essential functions for the apprenticeship program, must be able to communicate in English.
