Senior Systems Engineer

Description

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will provide programmatic and technical management support to the SIMCAP program and external interfaces.

This position is not eligible for daily telework; work will be performed on-site at NAS Patuxent River, MD.

Requirements

Education, Skills, and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a relevant STEM degree is required
• Operational knowledge and experience interfacing with Semi-automated Forces (SAF) simulation systems like Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF) and MSEA's Next Generation Threat System (NGTS/AMIE)
• Familiarity with simulated Weapon Servers, Navy Aviation Distributed Training Center (NADTC), and Navy Aviation Simulation Master Plan (NASMP) trainer systems
• Demonstrated experience with distributed simulation and interoperability experience, seamlessly connecting simulation systems over the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) network
• Well-versed in the areas of Cyber Security, Cross Domain Solution (CDS), and ATO requirements, and have a good understanding of JBUS gateway, DRMS/ASTI Radios, and distributed stimulation protocols (DIS, HLA, and TENA)
• Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proactive personality with the ability to work with limited guidance and supervision
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills, adept at managing competing priorities and initiating projects

Security Clearance Requirements:

• This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
