Reporting tothePACU Manager,thePACU Registered Nurse applies the nursing process to individuals and families of all ages experiencing alterations in health status associated with sedation/anesthetic interventions. The PACU Registered Nurse's scope includes, but is not limited to, the preadmission assessment/process, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (Phase 1), and Phase 2 recovery/discharge. The position includes postoperative follow-up to include the management of patients undergoing moderate sedation and assisting in procedures as required. This position requires excellent critical thinking, communication and Perianesthesia specific skills and practices consistent with ASPAN and AORN standards.
