Company DescriptionThe Birch Agency is seeking BIA's - Behavior Intervention Assistants to assist classroom teachers as needed while enhancing the learning environment and assure the safety and well-being of the children.
JOB DUTIES:
Assist the teacher in the daily classroom activities as directed.
Supervise and assist the intervention students to assure their safety and comfort in outside play, bathroom needs, assistance on and off the bus, waiting periods before and after school, and any other duties as directed.
Assist in department operational activities such as early intervention materials preparation and correspondence to parents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
1-2 years experience working with children in a daycare/preschool setting
Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification preferred (Not Required)
Experience working with severely handicapped, those with autism, or other developmental disabilities.
SKILLS:
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to function as a team player
Strong time management skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
May be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
Frequently requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, and reaching, often for extended periods of time.
