Job Description

As a Lead CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for overseeing the programming, setup, and operation of CNC machines to produce precision parts. This role requires strong technical expertise in CNC machining, leadership skills, and the ability to ensure efficient and quality-driven production.

Responsibilities:

  1. Programming and Setup:

    • Develop CNC programs based on engineering drawings and set up machines with appropriate tooling and fixtures.
  2. Operational Oversight:

    • Supervise the operation of CNC machines, monitoring performance and making adjustments as needed.
  3. Quality Control:

    • Conduct regular inspections of machined parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  4. Troubleshooting:

    • Identify and address issues with CNC machines, tooling, or programs to minimize downtime.
  5. Team Leadership:

    • Lead and supervise a team of CNC machinists, assigning tasks and ensuring production goals are met.
  6. Training and Development:

    • Train new CNC machinists on machine operation, programming, and safety protocols.
  7. Process Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement best practices to enhance productivity.
  8. Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate records of machine settings, tooling specifications, and production data.
  9. Safety Compliance:

    • Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
  10. Collaboration with Engineering:

    • Work closely with engineering teams to interpret technical drawings and provide feedback on design feasibility.
  11. Inventory Management:

    • Monitor tool and material inventory levels, coordinating with procurement for timely orders.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with leadership responsibilities.
  • Proficient in CNC programming and machine setup.
