Writer and Content CreatorACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT
The Writer & Content Creator, working with the VP of Communications & Public Relations, will be responsible for producing and managing all forms of VyStar's written content for both online and print purposes. This role will work with the Marketing team to bring new ideas to the table, making suggestions on how to best leverage our message(s) through all mediums.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Communications Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with VyStar's subject matter experts and Marketing team to produce and curate content for both online and print purposes
  • Lead in creation of articles, blogs, newsletters, press releases and all other internal and external materials that convey thought-leadership of VyStar senior management
  • Work closely with team members to develop Marketing brochures and product sheets, event promotions and professional biographies
  • Serve as editor for all firm-generated communications and assist with social media content as needed
  • Project management to assist with tracking communications and public relations projects

Brand Support and Activation

  • Support execution of brand activation and brand amplification. Lead Marketing team's efforts to learn, apply and teach written brand standards across VyStar
  • Produce and manage projects from ideation to final deliverables. Work with the Marketing team to bring new ideas to the table, making suggestions on how to best leverage our message(s)
  • Monitor TV, radio and online coverage analytics for brand awareness and other key performance indicators
  • Maintain communication and build relationships with local media, business leaders and other key dignitaries as necessary

Product and Member Support

  • Work with company departments and branches, capturing anecdotes from members and employees and turning them into content appropriate for any and all mediums
  • Come up with own ideas for blogs, newsletter articles and other communications to spotlight product promotions, member resources and more
  • Manage special projects, including planning, developing and executing strategies for editorial content such as Annual Reports

JOB QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE

Preferred:

  • E-mail marketing and management experience
  • Experience marketing financial services
  • Agency or consulting/freelance background
  • Supervision of vendors or employees

EDUCATION

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas in a persuasive, organized and effective manner
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant writing experience with minimum three years writing for digital mediums
  • Must be flexible and comfortable adapting to different writing styles while maintaining VyStar's core writing standards
  • Keen attention to detail and familiarity with AP style.
  • Solid grasp of social media (appropriate in a professional environment), creatively fostering the firm's engagement and visibility as a relevant online presence
  • Able to project manage multiple work assignments in a deadline-sensitive environment
  • Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills both in person, on the phone and email
  • Self-directed, able to accomplish projects with little supervision and collaborative
  • Extremely proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good design eye and Adobe Creative Suite experience
  • Email marketing and management experience
  • Experience marketing financial services
  • Agency or consulting/freelance background
  • Supervision of vendors or employees

EDUCATION

  • Candidate must possess a minimum of a four-year college degree with specialization in English, marketing, journalism, public relations or related field (or equivalent experience).
