Commercial Lines Insurance Client Service Representative

We are seeking a Client Service Representative to join our growing team! We are a multi-office insurance agency with several locations throughout the Hudson Valley. As a Client Service Representative, you will support the client service function of the Church department as well as assisting in the production of new accounts and the retention of existing accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Complete applications, questionnaires, request loss runs and issue binders, identification cards, certificates of insurance and requests for proof of property insurance

* Answer telephone in a professional manner while taking client inquiries and research and answer questions based on their insurance needs

* Become familiar with all policies forms and coverages as well as any recent changes to these forms and coverages and have to knowledge to explain these to a client in a way they understand

* Prior to policies renewing, review exposures, gather information the carrier has requested and deliver renewal policies or binders on a timely basis. Also review renewals to determine if better coverage and/or pricing can be obtained with another carrier

* Process transactions carefully paying attention to detail on a timely basis to minimize the potential for an errors and omissions exposure

* Backup and assist other team members as needed to achieve the common goal of servicing all clients in our usual professional manner

* Review existing client files to offer and quote additional coverages/exposures in an attempt to round out the accounts

* Work with underwriting departments to complete client files for information necessary to bring files up to date and current

* Work with producers on getting information when assistance becomes needed for quotes, endorsements, or underwriting questions. Keep producers in the loop and follow up with producers on the information requested

* Reviews existing accounts to determine if additional lines of insurance should be solicited and does so by mail and/or phone prior to renewal

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Need to be a team player who is a self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to multi-task with excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented. Should have knowledge of the carriers underwriting guidelines and documents required to place a risk. Ability to use personal computer, calculator, agency automation systems and various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel.
