Construction Superintendent

SUPERINTENDENT

Responsibilities

Supervision of projects last 6-30 months

Oversees and directs construction projects from the pre-job planning stages to completion.

Reviews specifications & construction drawings to assist in determining equipment, material, & staffing requirements for each phase of construction.

Confer and coordinate with Project Management and subcontractors to plan and execute work procedures to prevent delays and ensure compliance to specifications & drawings.

Guides & directs field employees, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Coordinates with management to orders tools, materials, and equipment to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules, tracks inventory.

Reviews work progress daily.

Prepares reports pertaining to job status; adjust work activities as required.

Liaises with project owner, engineer, inspector, etc. to maintain a good working relationship.

Confers with supervisory personnel, engineers, inspectors, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve problems and improve construction methods.

Develops construction techniques to reduce costs & improve quality.

Assist in creating & managing project schedules.

Ensures jobsite safety & compliance with OSHA and Rubin Construction’s policies.

Onboards field personnel.

Provides expertise and guidance in trade areas, including earthwork, concrete, yard pipe, process pipe, and mechanical/equipment installations.

Other tasks as required.

Qualifications

We are willing to train candidates with similar experience.

Field experience in one or more of the areas of heavy concrete, underground pipe, process pipe & mechanical/equipment installations.

Stable and proven employment history.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

A willingness to travel, we generally work in the upper Midwest including MN, SD, IA,

2+ years’ experience in a Superintendent role, preferably Heavy Civil, Industrial or Water/Wastewater
